Gen S28: Press Up/Fold In (2025)

Gen S28: Press Up/ Fold In traverses different registers: reading x homage x show and tell x chant x art history lecture. It contains sculptures I've fabricated and research material I've made copies of from The Women's Art Library during a period in residence. Partly biographical, part citational, I amplify art and writing protesting Section 28, the anti-gay law passed the year before my birth. The work is in part a response to living under the law without knowing it, and also an ongoing experiment being with books, paper and research differently. It builds upon the performance ‘1989 was 34 Years Ago' (2023-4)
